The Marchetti Wing of the Museo della Città e del Territorio of Cori is designed as an immersive space that brings to life the remarkable career and inventions of Alessandro Marchetti, the brilliant aeronautical engineer born in Cori in 1884. The exhibition blends historical memory with technological innovation, turning a visit into an interactive and engaging experience.
It begins with life-size silhouettes of Marchetti as a child and as an adult, accompanied by a narrated audio introduction. The journey unfolds across three multimedia installations: a video, an interactive touch table, and a flight simulator.
The video recounts a defining episode from Marchetti’s career, including the famous duel with General Guidoni. The touch table allows visitors to explore his aeronautical achievements through texts, images, and 360° 3D models, offering an intuitive and dynamic experience. The path culminates in the SM.79 flight simulator, where visitors can virtually pilot one of Marchetti’s most iconic aircraft over the breathtaking landscape of the Lepini Mountains.
More than a tribute to a pioneer of Italian engineering, the Marchetti Wing serves as a bridge between past and future, transforming the museum into a laboratory of knowledge and emotion.
