Municipality of Rocca Massima

Perched on a spur of the Lepini Mountains, Rocca Massima is a small village overlooking the Pontine plain from above, offering views that extend all the way to the Tyrrhenian coast and the Pontine Islands on clear days.

Its strategic position has marked its history since the Middle Ages, when it represented an important garrison for controlling the territory.

The historic center retains the typical layout of fortified villages, with narrow alleys converging towards the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the town’s main religious building.

Traces of the ancient defensive structures and the collected urban layout tell the story of the medieval origins of the town and its connection with the feudal events of the Lepine area.

Today, Rocca Massima invites you to visit with an offering that ranges from culture to nature and sports tourism, without forgetting the flavors of Lepine tradition.

Don’t miss the “Flying in the sky” experience: the longest (2,225 meters of cable) and fastest zip line in the world, with peaks reaching 172 km/h. The adrenaline-filled experience, known as the “peregrine falcon flight,” offers a unique panoramic view from the Lazio coast to the Alban Hills, all the way to the mountains of Abruzzo, overlooking olive groves, karst formations and the slopes of Monte San Angelo, where the peregrine falcon nests.
