A “widespread museum” between archaeology, art and nature. The project “The Lepini Mountains Amphitheater: The Heart of Ninfa” was born with the aim of strengthening and networking the cultural, historical, and landscape heritage of the Lepini Mountains, starting with the central role of the Ninfa Garden (in the Cisterna di Latina area), the epicenter of one of the area’s main tourist flows.
Promoted by the Roffredo Caetani Foundation in collaboration with the municipalities of Sermoneta, Norma, Cori, and Rocca Massima, the project builds an integrated system of cultural sites, transforming the area into a truly widespread museum where archaeology, art, history, and nature interact through innovative tools.
The heart of the initiative is the introduction of digital technologies and immersive routes capable of engaging the visitor in an active manner. Augmented reality, virtual reconstructions, and multimedia installations allow you to enter places, understand their historical stratification, and live them as experiences, not just as stops. In Sermoneta, the tour highlights the Caetani Castle of Sermoneta, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, and the Museum of the Walls, integrating digital tools and innovative narratives capable of strengthening the attractiveness of the monumental complex.
In Cori, the City and Territory Museum is enriched with multimedia itineraries and reconstructions also dedicated to the history of flight and the figure of engineer Alessandro Marchetti, born in the Lepini municipality. In Norma, the archaeological area of ancient Norba is at the center of a development project that includes an archaeological park and a multimedia educational center, designed for schools, families, and groups, with the aim of making knowledge of the site accessible and engaging. Finally, Rocca Massima fully enters the circuit thanks to its attractive potential and the presence of Fly in the Sky, helping to expand and diversify the tourist experience of the entire area.
The project aims to overcome the fragmentation of cultural offerings by systematizing excellences already present but often perceived as isolated realities. The creation of a common platform and a shared technological language allows visitors to be guided along a coherent itinerary, extending their stay in the area and promoting more informed enjoyment.
“The Lepini Mountains Amphitheater” is not just a set of technological interventions, but an integrated vision of cultural development: a model of valorization that begins in Ninfa and radiates to the surrounding villages, building a unified narrative capable of connecting past and future, memory and innovation.
